The inaugural International HR Conference was opened by Gary Browning, CEO of Penna who introduced the keynotes Richard Watson and Stephen Kelly from Logica with some thoughts that highlighted some of the key themes of the day: dealing with the ever increasing pace of change, the link between globalisation mobility and connectivity and the cultural challenges of cross border HR.
Richard Watson and Stephen Kelly then combined to give a fascinating insight into some potential future scenarios: for the world in general and more specifically the changing future of work and the challenges and opportunities it presents to HR.
Streamed sessions before and after lunch featured case studies and knowledge sharing on areas such as talent and leadership in mature and emerging markets, mobility, M&A and international comps & bens.
The closing keynote from Unilever’s Prerana Issar focussed on an issue that recurred throughout the stream discussions: achieving the right balance between regional and global HR strategy.
Delegates included HR Directors and senior HR executives involved in setting international HR strategy from UK based companies.
